Boasting a top-notch ensemble cast, including Jeremy Sisto – Waitress, Clueless, Broken, Judy Greer - 27 Dresses, Elizabethtown, The Village, Nicholle Tom – The Princess Diaries, Beethoven, Urban Chaos Theory, Christine Lakin – The Game Plan, The Hottie and the Nottie, Georgia Rule, Christopher Jaymes ‘ IN MEMORY OF MY FATHER is an unfeigned plunge into second generation Hollywood royalty. Three brothers attempt to come to terms with their own quandaries, flaws, and failings amidst a bribe-driven documentation of their retired film producer father’s wake. A portrait of a self-proclaimed (somewhat justifiable) legend conveyed by the observation of his resulting, equally confused offspring on the day of his death.
A celebration of death carried out in a fashion that only a masterfully self-absorbed Hollywood family could. A festival favorite and winner of multiple awards including Best Picture at CineVegas & Santa Barbara Film Festival . The film has a superb soundtrack by indie veterans Belle & Sebastian.
“Despite the dark tone, the likeably unlikeable ensemble cast is uniformly excellent, and there are some real laughs to be had.”
Empire, UK
“Familial carnage so funny and so ridiculous you’ll be weeping tears of joyous blood.”
Maxim, UK
“Expect lots of dark laughs in this hip indie flick.”
OK Magazine, UK
“All in all, it’s a small film with a big reach, a great antidote to the summer’s blockbuster onslaught that effectively showcases some of Hollywood’s most promising young talent.”
Film Review UK
“Sharp dialogue, delivered with beautiful comic timing, produces some real laugh out loud moments, yet there is a continuous undercurrent of dismay that a death should be responded to with such callousness, self-interest and vacuity.”
EyeForFilm.co.uk
“The film feels like a fresh, smart, sparky variation on The Celebration crossed with Arrested Development.”
ShadowOntheWall.co.uk, UK
“Despite the cooling corpse and the cameras, family tensions explode into black comedy as Chris finds himself torn between two lovers, cuckolded middle son Jeremy explores Ecstasy and marital honesty, and eldest son Matt gives his father’s ex-lover carnal comfort on the bedroom carpet.”
