Aspect will be shopping scream queen Harris’ debut at the EFM.

UK outfit Aspect Film has picked up worldwide rights to Danielle Harris’ debut Among Friends for its genre division Chiller Films.

Written by Alyssa Lobit, the 80s-set horror about a dinner party gone wrong stars Christopher Backus, Jennifer Blanc and AJ Bowen.

Three Little Birds Productions produces in association with Hollywood Treasures, Inc.

Aspect will be shopping Friends at Berlin.

UK producer and distributor Aspect Film has picked up a series about Hollywood from US indie OTM Productions.

London-based Aspect has secured international distribution rights outside the US, Australia and New Zealand to Hollywood’s Classics: Behind the Scenes (26×26′), which looks into the careers of movie stars, directors and producers.

There are two seasons so far, with more episodes in production. Episode one features Oscar-winning talent such as director Robert Wise (West Side Story), director Oliver Stone (Platoon) and actors Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins) and Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting).

Hollywood’s Classics is produced and directed by Mark Kaplan and Scott Goldrich of OTM.

Aspect’s catalogue also includes feature-length documentaries Food Matters, about food and the health industry, and The Peter Green Story, about the founder of 1960s rock band Fleetwood Mac.

Food Matters was previously sold to Canal+/Planete in France, Channel 8 in Israel and Singapore Airlines.

LONDON: Aspect Film in the U.K. has picked up the global distribution rights outside of the U.S., Australia and New Zealand for the factual series Hollywood’s Classics: Behind the Scenes.

The 26×26-minute series, produced and directed by Mark Kaplan and Scott Goldrich of OTM Productions, will have an initial run of 13 episodes for the first two seasons.

The series features a behind-the-scenes look into the careers of Hollywood movie stars, directors and producers, including interviews.

“We are delighted to have secured the rights for such a fascinating and intimate entertainment series,” said Hugh Edwards, the CEO of Aspect Film. “Mark and Scott have assembled a glittering array of some of the most respected and revered names in motion picture history. Their interview style is one that clearly entices their subjects to be relaxed and candid, so viewers are really in for a treat when the series airs.”

Irish actress Sarah Bolger has been cast in the lead of Canadian writer-director Francesco Lucente’s 3D fantasy fairytale adventure Starbright which will begin shooting in the US in early 2011.

Bolger, who is currently shooting Mary Harron’s gothic horror film The Moth Diaries in and around Montreal, will play a young woman who escapes into a world of fantasy and fairytales to hide the pain of a childhood tragedy. The role of the archangel Raphael will be played by veteran American actor James Earl Jones.

The German-US co-production is being produced by Michel Morales’ Munich-based Aviv Pictures with Jörg G. Neumann’s investment company COPEX-Group, Lucente Filmed Entertainment, and Michel Shane and Anthony Romano’s Hand Picked Films, among others. UK sales agent Aspect Film will be handling international sales.

Lucente’s previous film Badland, about an American soldier unable to cope with the realities of daily life after his return from a tour of duty in Iraq, starred UK actor Jamie Drevin, Grace Fulton, Chandra West and Joe Morton, and was made in 2007.
